The Basics

Character Name: Hestia Elizabeth Jones PB: Pauley Perrette Age: 30 Birthday: March 13 Wand: 8 inches/Holly/Dragon Heartstring House in School: Hufflepuff Bloodline: Half-Blood Political View: Hestia is open-minded and always has been. She’s been raised that way. She has friends from many walks of life and doesn’t like how some of them are treated by the ministry.

Appearance

Height: 5’10” Weight: 140 lbs. Eyes: Green Hair: Black Build: Medium. Not a stick, but not huge either. Dress Style: I suppose it would be described as Goth. She will dress in normal causal clothes though. She just loves the style, but she lacks a dark personality. Basic Physical Description: Defining Marks: Her hair is a little past her shoulders and is very straight typically. She was in a car accident when she was younger with her Paternal Grandmother, which caused a large scar on her leg and one on her arm as well that typically cannot be hidden without a long sleeve shirt. She’s pretty normal in physical appearance. She’s pretty, but not gorgeous. People seem more attracted to her personality than anything else.

Personality

As I said before, Hestia is quite friendly and outgoing. She always has been and she can’t help it. Her strengths definitely include being loyal, friendly, just, and just a little bit (or a lot) kinky. She has quite a few faults as well though. She gets jealous easily and sometimes unjustly. It can get the better of her and cause insecurity. She also is a little too forgiving and forgives people who probably don’t deserve it. That goes hand in hand with her trusting people too much. In her normal life she trusts too much, but in the Order life, she is very sharp when on missions. She can talk up a storm and never let up until it’s obvious she needs to. Her mood can change from very bright to very dark if you push her just the right way. Insulting anyone she loves, equal rights, etc… and she will explode on you. You could say that she “marches to the beat of her own drummer.” She’s not extremely off of the wall, but she has many odd relatives that she enjoys talking about. She has a style that most Wizard’s don’t have, at least not Wizards that aren’t Deatheaters. She bites her lip when nervous and plays with her hands, twisting them every which way. She pulls at her pony/pigtails too. She has a tendency to roll on her heels when thinking as well. Her outlook is generally somewhat sunny and can easily pretend that nothing is wrong, even when it is. There aren’t many people she lets into her “inner circle” and will show her feelings. Most of the Order members don’t even know her inner workings. She left it strictly professional.

Psychology

Extrovert/Introvert: Hestia is without a doubt an extrovert. She’s open, friendly, and will embarrass you to get you out of your shell. She teases all of her friends, but doesn’t bother with people she doesn’t like. If you get her heated though, she will explode in a fit of rage, especially if someone close was hurt by them. Boggart Would Be: Hestia is absolutely and completely terrified of Hippogriffs. She doesn’t even know why, exactly. Was she frightened by one when she was a child? Nobody knows, but being in the Order Headquarters with Witherwings just about drove her batty Patronus Would Be: Hestia can produce a Patronus. She has to for her work in the Order of the Phoenix. Her Patronus is a Panther and just as dark haired as she. It’s graceful, but fierce when it needs to be. I believe that it fits her well.

Sexuality

Hestia is straight. She’s never known herself to want a woman. She thinks some are very beautiful though and if she ever found herself being attracted to one, she would in no way be uncomfortable about it.

Lifestyle

Occupation: Possibly the Muggle Studies teacher at Hogwarts or Arithmancy? I’m open to her occupation. (Need to talk to someone about this. ) Residence: During the school year, Hogwarts. During the Summer months she moves in with her cousin, Matilda. Financial Status: Middle-Class. Hestia is not the poorest-of-the-poor, but she isn’t rich either. She has to save up for many things she really wants and is just a normal woman trying to survive.

Family

Parents: Timothy and Cynthia Jones. Tim is a muggle that her mother met at a fellow student’s party over a Winter Holiday. Cynthia was a Hufflepuff. Siblings: Jack and Ross Jones. Both are a few years older than she. Jack was a Gryffindor and Jack was a Hufflepuff. Hestia detests her father and has since she was about 11 years old. He doesn’t like that his children have magic like Cynthia. He loved her, but always wished that his children would not be ‘cursed’ with the same fate. Even though it is not his wife’s fault, he’s been bossy and jealous to her almost the entire marriage, starting after Jack got his Hogwarts’ letter. Hestia looks almost exactly like her mother, except she has her father’s nose and ears. She gets along extremely well with her and goes to visit whenever she can. Her brothers give her a hard time, like all brothers do, but on the sibling level, she loves them. Even though they are now in their 30s, they still act like teenagers around each other. Both sets of her grandparents are deceased, but hopefully one of her brothers will eventually have a child.

History from student days at Hogwarts to the present time

In Hogwarts, Hestia was a good Defense Against the Dark Arts, Arithmancy and Muggle Studies student. After school, she worked in a library for a few years before applying for a teaching job at Hogwarts. When Voldemort returned, she joined the order with fellow schoolmates and even their parents. She’s never been a huge dater, but she’s had a few boyfriends over the years. There have been no major significant others in her life that bears mentioning. She was in the group that brought Harry from Privet Drive in his fifth year and fought with the Order. Several of her Aunts and Uncles died in the war, possibly more than she even realized. Since then she’s been working at Hogwarts, waiting for the time when they’re truly needed again. Hestia is very happy that Harry defeated the Dark Lord. She saw many friends pass away and become hurt by that monster. She also never cared for Severus Snape. He always seemed dark, dreary, and nasty to her and that definitely doesn’t sit well with her. It came as a surprise to her that he’d murder Albus because he trusted Snape. She never once doubted anything that Dumbledore said. When Snape was pardoned, she was angry, but once they learned that he was alright, she eased up. She cannot forget anything that Lucius did and thinks it’s disgusting that he is getting media attention. She has very strong opinions. Things are very black and white with her. There is very little grey. The Registry is targeting the wrong people, in her opinion. It would be very hard for the Ministry to differentiate between good and bad Werewolves though. She doesn’t like that someone like Remus has to register, but she understands there are bad Werewolves out there and she definitely agrees that the Deatheaters need to. That being said, she thinks it’s great that Remus has a job at Hogwarts. Hestia thinks that everything to do with Bellatrix’s cure and release is pure garbage. She still wouldn’t trust that woman as far as she could throw her, if she ever saw her again, of course.
